Here's A Look At The Steps Of Installing Our Residential Sprinkler Systems

We have always had a simple philosophy to help our business grow, to strive for the highest possible level of customer satisfaction.

There is no easier way for a business to thrive than for happy customers passing our name along to their friends and family. To that end, we’ve developed the following system for quoting, designing, installing and maintaining a highly-efficient sprinkler system for our clients.

Free Consult, design, Estimate & Review

Steps 1-3 Will Develop And Prepare The Project

We realize the importance of customer satisfaction. We are committed to providing only the best in service, and ensuring that we meet your needs, by operating on the values of integrity, quality and dependability.

Our first task is to meet with you at your property, in person, so we can determine exactly what your needs and expectations are. This includes, inspecting the areas you would like to have irrigated and the area where we will tie the system in to the existing plumbing (this will most likely be in the mechanical room).

By inspecting the property in person, we can be sure we have taken all the details and information into account when designing your new sprinkler system. This consultation also allows us to answer any specific questions you might have.

The next step is to provide you with a detailed sprinkler design and estimate. This can be done one of two ways. If you have an RPR (real property report) or correctly scaled drawing of your property, you can provide this to us to create your design. If you don’t have an RPR, don’t worry. Thanks to Google Earth, we can get a satellite image for the vast majority of properties to aid your underground sprinkler design.

At Future Green Irrigation, we believe in using the latest technology in designing and installing your sprinkler system. Computer aided design (CAD) software is critical to providing you with an efficient sprinkler system that will save water over the long term. In fact we believe our irrigation designs are what set us apart from the rest.

Benefits of Computer Aided Design

Once we've sent you a full proposal that includes an estimate and design, we'll review it with you, and make any necessary changes or additions.

We can make any necessary adjustments based on the review.

Our detailed cost estimates let you know exactly what you’re paying for and when you can expect it finished.

Installation & maintenance plan

Steps 4-6 Will Detail The Installation & Maintenance

Here are the last few steps of our irrigation installation process. We will do a thorough walk-through of the system after we have finished. We do not receive payment until you are fully satisfied with your system.

There are a number of factors that determine the cost of an irrigation system in Calgary, including the number of zones, property terrain and plumbing work to be done. The number of zones are determined by the total area to be covered, and property layout.

When we quote a job, we provide a detailed estimate of parts, their cost and labour. While not all cases are the same, the typical cost ends up being between $500–$600 per zone, and $250 for the water hookup. Most city lots need 4–8 zones for full coverage of grass and garden beds, front and back yard. Our average cost for a system last season was $2,600.

For inspection, an inspector from the city will inspect the backflow prevention device and provide an approved permit. For follow up, after one month, a member of our team will inspect the system for coverage deficiencies and make any necessary adjustments. We can take this opportunity to address any additional concerns you may have.

We take pride in the quality of our sprinkler system design and installation, and we build systems to last. Like any machine with moving parts however, this requires regular maintenance. For irrigation systems there are 3 yearly maintenance activities that are required:

Winterization - Every fall water needs to be removed from the lines so that freezing does not damage your system. With a new installation, the first winterization in included.

Spring Startup - Spring startup is more than simply turning the water on. It's a great opportunity to readjust and realign sprinkler heads to ensure optimal coverage for the upcoming season.

Cross Connection Testing - Since 2015, The city of Calgary requires an installation of testable cross connection devices and requires owners of such devices to test them annually.

Even the best-designed systems with high uniformity can be a huge 'water waster' if it's improperly managed. That is why the products we recommend is the award-winning Hydrawise Smart Irrigation controller.

This controller automatically adjusts water schedules based on internet weather stations with an easy-to-use interface.

The watering schedule can adjust the watering schedule based on weather data and can suspend watering depending on the temperature, predicted rainfall or actual rainfall.

All of this leads to significant water savings from your sprinkler system, saving you time and money.

Only The Best Irrigation Systems With Optimal Watering Results

The revolutionary MP Rotator irrigation nozzle features a unique, multi-trajectory rotating stream delivery system that achieves significant water-conserving results.

Rather than simply "spray" water onto landscapes, MP Rotators deliver multiple streams of water at a steady rate.

The slower application rate of this nozzle allows water to gently soak into the soil and apply an even distribution throughout the area being irrigated.

This increased efficiency results in up to 30% less water used when compared to traditional sprays and this nozzle also significantly reduces wasteful runoff.
